Granger Township aimed to create a regional destination that could fuel local athletics, recreation, and sports tourism. The township’s existing facilities were well past their lifespan. Fields were uneven and unsafe, practice areas could no longer host competition, and spectator seating was outdated and undersized. Without significant upgrades, the community risked losing the ability to support school athletics or attract outside tournaments.
AVID designed a state-of-the-art, multi-use complex that enhanced the experience for both athletes and spectators. Key upgrades included a new turf field, tennis courts, expanded parking, locker rooms, concession stands, and recreational spaces. A holistic approach ensured every element, from arrival to competition, was safe, accessible, and adaptable to diverse events.
The Highland Sports Complex now anchors athletics and recreation in Granger Township. It serves as a modern home for local athletes while drawing regional tournaments that strengthen the community’s identity and economy.
