As Akron Children's Hospital expanded its primary care network, the organization sought to establish a new pediatric practice in Jackson Township to improve access for families and strengthen its presence in Stark County. The project called for a new community-based clinic to be designed, permitted, and constructed within a single year—a highly aggressive schedule for a ground-up healthcare facility.

Rather than starting from scratch, AVID Architects built upon its extensive experience designing Akron Children's outpatient facilities to quickly adapt a proven primary care program to the site. Working closely with the construction manager and AVID's in-house MEP engineering team, the design moved rapidly from client approval into construction documents, allowing permits to be secured just weeks later and construction to begin on schedule. The completed facility includes 23 primary care exam rooms and two child guidance rooms designed to support efficient workflows and a positive patient experience.

Completed on schedule, the new Jackson Township location expands Akron Children's ability to provide high-quality pediatric care closer to where families live. The project demonstrates how established partnerships, integrated design, and proven healthcare expertise can accelerate project delivery while supporting long-term community access to care.
