Lorain-Medina Rural Electric Cooperative (LMRE)had outgrown its 1955 Wellington headquarters, which lacked space, accessibility, and infrastructure to serve a growing member base across five counties. With no room to expand on site, LMRE sought to build a new, modern headquarters that could unite office, operations, and community functions while anchoring to a new industrial park.

AVID worked closely with LMRE to address the unique needs of each space, introducing multiple building systems to maximize budget and functionality. The 20,500 SF office features metal stud framing with a wood truss roof, while the 35,000 SF warehouse/service garage uses a pre-engineered metal building system. The two structures appear as one, with a three-hour CMU firewall between them for safety.

The new campus more than doubles LMRE’s space, consolidates operations, and offers a secure community-centric venue. Built for flexibility, it equips LMRE to serve members for decades to come.
